Serving the adult and youth bowlers on the Grand Strand, the Grand Strand United States Bowling Congress Association (GSUSBCA) was formed on August 1, 2005, by merging the Grand Strand Bowling Association (men) and the Grand Strand Women’s Bowling Association. This action was taken with the encouragement of the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) which was formed in 2004 by the merger of the American Bowling Congress (ABC) and the Women’s International Bowling Congress (WIBC).
The Grand Strand Women’s Bowling Association was formed in 1959 and thrived for 46 years. The Grand Strand Bowling Association was established in 1975 replacing an earlier association which primarily served the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. The GSUSBCA consists of over 3,000 bowlers participating in 65 winter adult leagues and 16 winter youth leagues at four bowling centers. |
